Moon or Chandra is a royal planet and is the queen in astrology. It represents the mind, emotions, sensitivity, the mother, house and domestic comforts, milk, sea and all things connected with the sea, hotel and food industry, textiles and apparels. Its cold and calm. The moon is the fastest moving of the 9 planets and takes approximately 2-1/2 days to travel a sign. When the Sun (the King in Astrology) and Moon are in the same rasi it is called Amavasya or new moon day or the 1st day of the dark fortnight. When the sun and the moon are in the exact opposite signs or 180 degrees apart, it is called Poornima. The sign in which your Moon is placed in the birth chart is called your Janma Rasi. The star constellation in which your Moon is placed is called your Janma Nakshatra.

I give great emphasis to the Moon in my readings as it represents a persons EQ or Emotional Quotient, which sometimes is more if not as important than the IQ or the Intelligence Quotient.

If you have a well placed Moon, you would do well in life, as you would be mentally able to weather all of life’s storms; on the other hand if you have a badly placed Moon, your life would be full of emotional turmoil and despite having everything materialistically, you would not get peace of mind, infact you would face emotional distress/disorders.

Such is the importance of the Moon on our emotions that you would have observed that on full/new Moon nights even the ocean has a high tide. During these Moon phases, the gravitational forces of the Moon and the Sun combine to pull the ocean’s water in the same direction. Similarly in a research done in the US, it was noticed that on full/new Moon nights, inmates in mental asylums were uncontrollable. This is because the human body is also 70% water and during a full/new Moon, all of us are extra emotional or edgy (especially the ones who’s Moon is not well placed face) and some face uncontrollable emotional turmoil or even rage.

Therefore if your Moon is in the 6th, 8th or 12th house of your lagna chart, please observe how you feel on the coming new Moon on March 17th 2018. Though astrologically auspicious, it would be worthwhile to observe your emotional self.

That would be a practical experiment of Astrology and its direct impact on you.
