People with such an advanced level of IQ are often eccentric, and the term “mad scientist” has been coined to describe them. They cannot function in a normal domestic or worldly environment with all its rules and formalities. They are often misunderstood and need to be left free. Fortunately, in the time of Albert Einstein—and even today—America is one of the few countries where universities provide an atmosphere that encourages such people. For the right person, they remove red tape and bureaucratic hurdles and support them with good funding.

Einstein was also a misfit and therefore suffered in his personal life. His relationships were difficult, and he was a lonely person. At that IQ level, he could not find people who genuinely understood him. The fact that people still recognized his brilliance is commendable, as it led to him getting a stable pro-research, free-thinking environment. Such people can be very moody and emotional; if they are upset, they may scream and shout because they are not like everyday people who fake a happy exterior while living a miserable life. At that level of mental functioning, you become fearless, without filters, and you live life as it comes. The world is blessed to have had Einstein and many such scientists whose discoveries have improved our lives in so many areas.

Lagna Chart

So this is what the chart of a genius looks like—a troubled genius, an emotional genius, someone who changed the course of science. He was ascendant Taurus: headstrong, fixated, and born in a very unstable political environment in Europe. There is a clear indication that his life and achievements would be far away from his place of birth. Ketu in the third house shows little or no contact with his birthplace once he settled in his adopted country, the US.

Moon is debilitated in the 7th house; hence married life was tough for him. He had multiple marriages, and in both cases his spouses passed away before him. His personal life was not great, and he was a difficult person to get along with. Mars exalted, along with Rahu in the 9th house, shows that in a foreign country—his adopted homeland America—he would do very well professionally, and he indeed did so, but in unconventional ways. This is not the chart of a conventional professional; he was an academician with deep knowledge. His knowledge base was massive, and because of that, professional respect and rewards are seen. Jupiter in the 10th house shows luck also supporting him. There are many knowledgeable people with high IQ who never get the opportunity to be recognized, but he was destiny’s child who got the opportunity as well. This is what made him a renowned professor at Princeton, one of the finest research institutes then and even today.

His 11th house gave him name and fame but at a great personal cost. It has Saturn, exalted Venus, the Sun, and debilitated Mercury. Hence he was rebellious, eccentric, a “mad scientist.” If things did not go his way or if he didn’t like something or someone, he didn’t know how to handle the situation. Such people need assistants to manage everyday administrative work because they can scream and shout. It was difficult to get along with him personally, as he was not born to please others. All his energies and intelligence were channelled into research, not into worrying about what people thought of him. On a worldly or practical level, his mind did not function in the usual way. This is a higher-level mind, and he may have had differences with many people. You need to be a rebel to make discoveries of this magnitude because people resist change and new theories. Had he been anywhere other than America, who knows—jealousies may have destroyed him.

So the mark of this genius was professional brilliance; no shortage of money; a life of luxury and intelligence—but an unsettled personal life. He passed away in his 9th house Rahu Mahadasha due to MKSD. Because of MKSD, he barely had a family life. His life was his laboratory and research, which consumed him and made it very difficult for him to maintain meaningful relationships and marriages. Though he did marry—because Moon debilitated in the 7th house creates the desire to settle emotionally—he lacked the ability to manage human relationships.

That is the tragedy of such a brilliant person: he could not find stability in his personal life, but his contributions to humankind are immeasurable.
