Analysis
So he came to limelight during the Balakot Operation by the Indian Air Force when his aircraft was shot down and he ejected into the enemy territory. Then subsequently lot of pressure was put by the government of India; in fact I have heard that Prime Minister Modi even threatened Pakistan with missile attacks if he was not released. Hence thereafter he was released by Pakistan PM Imran Khan and crossed over to India via the Wagah Border. He got the Veer Chakra for his heroics during Balakot but it was a little bit surprising that he left the Indian Air Force at the prime of his career; otherwise he would have definitely reached very senior positions in the Indian Air Force.
Let me study his chart to understand why.
He is ASC Virgo, a very practical person with Saturn exalted and retrograde and Moon in the second house. He comes from a very good, professional and wealthy family. Emotionally he is very strong person.
He comes from a Defense family herself; his father is a retired air marshal of the Indian Air Force.
He himself will do very professionally. 3rd house has Jupiter retrograde; this means time to time obstacles are there and life is not easy for him. When exalted Saturn was retrograde and Jupiter retrograde, the plane was shot down. He came in the national limelight but there have been similar other obstacles also during his life and career but he has been able to overcome them.
4th house has Ketu. This means despite coming from a good family, he would be self made in his own right and earn decently. 9th house has Mercury. This means that professionally he likes to have a comfortable and luxurious job where he can have less stress and more comforts. By temperament he is a very polite and refined gentleman and professionally lucky.
10th house has Sun, Mars enemy, Rahu. So this is a chart of a senior person in the defense forces. He has leadership skills, authority, though it is seen with Mars enemy he is on the reserved side. He does not like to command a lot of people or be an authoritative figure which he would have soon been in the Indian Air Force, he does not like that but flying is his passion.
Rahu in the 10th house means that due to his career he will continue to hold a very senior position in his career and travel overseas a lot due. Venus is enemy in the 11th house means that he is married to a high profile lady and some time to time differences are always there and that could be one of the factors for him quitting the IAF.
From his chart overall, he is a stable person and what has happened to him is that his exalted and retrograde Saturn Mahadasha was there in the prime of his career from 2001 till 2020; during that time he was in the Indian Air Force; he made a name for himself and as at the very end of a Saturn Mahadasha around 2019–20; he got immense career reward with stress too when during the Balakot mission his plane was downed and he had to eject, which itself is a risky maneuver. He was able to come back because planets were with him and get rewards and awards and he was also promoted.
Now I think what has happened is during his complete Air Force career, the Balakot incident had a very traumatic impact on him. Saturn even though exalted was retrograde, and hence it extracted its pound of flesh. Now his 9th house Mercury Mahadasha has started and he wanted to take a break from all the stress and focus on flying only, and he will get it. At senior levels of the Indian Air Force one has to manage the complete force; it is not an easy easy job and not everyone’s cup of tea, more so for an aviator.
He has taken premature retirement in his Mercury mahadisha and he will enjoy his life without much risk. He has joined a private airline and he will be earning much more money over the next 17 years. He will do exceedingly well in his private career as Pilot for a newly established airline. This will be a relaxed kind of job for him compared to his Indian Air Force pilot /management duties.
