Professionally this is powerful chart but when I saw his Jupiter is coming as debilitated; I decided to dig deeper into his life and what I realized the Sam “Bahadur” that we now know; his professional life was not easy. He was lucky as his debilitated Jupiter mahadasha was over in 1936. But he was involved in a lot of controversies leading up to the 1971 war after which Indira Gandhi as PM stood in support of him after he won the 1971 war on the Pakistan front. Since then there was no looking back for him because he was also going through his lagna house Ketu and later his 9th house auspicious Venus Mahadasha from 1972 till 2000.
He was also lucky because his debilitated Jupiter Mahadasha ended very early in 1936 plus all his future antardashas were auspicious. His 6th house debilitated Jupiter mahadasha was immediately followed by his 10th house Saturn Maharashtra. That meant due to his career he would hold a position of authority; which was followed by his 7th house Mercury Mahadasha with Rahu, which involved him in a lot of controversies but he always came out of it.
But debilitated Jupiter does extract its pound of flesh and what it means is in his case is that powerful enemies would try to cut him to pieces all along.
Let me tell you of his struggles.
In 1942 he nearly lost his life as he was riddled with bullets in the stomach in the Burma war. Most of his organs in the stomach were riddled but he maintained his sense of humor; in fact he was a person known for his sense of humor and that impressed the surgeon who was operating him so much that he went out of the way beyond the call of his duty to save him. And his orderly Sher Singh who evacuated him from the battle field and took him to the surgeon.
Post independence in 1947, it was not easy for him being a Parsi in the Indian Army, more so someone who was not a great fan of political interference or bureaucratic interference in the army’s work; which attracted very strong enemies. That is what debilitated Jupiter did and it reached to such a peak that he was suspected of being “anti national”; being pro British, rather than being pro India. The Indian army unleashed the spies on him.
You would be surprised to know that from 1958 to around 1962; Sam “Bahadur” was charged with sedition and a court of military inquiry was launched against him due to which he could not take part in the 1962 China war. So much was the hatred in the political establishment against him. He was not trusted at all but he was exonerated by the court of military enquiry and went back into service. He still did not like civilian interference in his job and due to that, the politicians of that time also suspected him of trying to take over the Indian democracy by the military or establish military rule in India. This was when he moved a large number of forces from Kashmir to Punjab. So this was not an easy life. He had informed the then Prime Minister Nehru that there was a conspiracy against him against him; due to which he was not being promoted too.
Destiny changed for the better around the 1971 war or you can say around 1969; because he openly voiced his grievance that India lost the war with China because there was not proper military leadership (and he also could not take part in the war).
Late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi became the first politician in the nation who took a liking to Sam Bahadur when, in the face of 1971 war, she asked him whether he could ensure victory on the Western Front. He told her very bluntly that he could provided there is no interference in his job. She agreed and gave him a free hand and the rest is history.

Astrologically, after 1971—once his 9th house Venus Mahadasha started from 1979 to 1999—that is when he saw the glorious period of his career which made him amongst other things the first Field Marshal of India.
The name Sam “Bahadur” was given to him because once as Chief of the Army Staff he visiting a Gorkha unit and he casually asked one of the Gorkha jawans if he knew he who he was? The jawan replied “yes sir you are Sam Bahadur”. From then on it became his nickname.
Last but not the least he was given the rank of Field Marshall around the mid 1970s but he was not given his additional pay for the rank till well after his retirement till 2007. That also when President APJ Abdul Kalam intervened and specially went to visit him in Wellington, Tamil Nadu and handed him an arrears cheque of Rs 1.3 crore.
So his life was not easy but he soldiered on despite immense obstacles.
This was “Sam Bahadur”.
