Analysis
October 11, 2022 was Amitabh Bachchan’s 80th birthday. This chart analysis is my way of wishing the colussus of the Hindi film industry. Like millions of Indians, I have been watching his movies since childhood. I remember going to the theatres as a child to watch Sholay when it was released. I vividly remember when he nearly lost his life during an accident while shooting Coolie. I think I was just about a teenager at that time, living in Delhi. I was travelling in a DTC bus with my mother and rumours spread that Amitabh Bachchan had passed away. At that young age itself, I immediately told my mother that I would not eat food that day. Since there was no Internet then, the only way the information could be negated was in the night when the Doordarshan news came on. Fortunately, that turned out to be a rumour, and Big B, as he is known, has now entered the eighth decade of his eventful life.
I deeply respect what he has done for the Hindi film industry. To put it simply, I am a huge fan, and I have been impressed by him as an actor.
Now, let’s turn to his chart, which has Jupiter and Mercury both exalted. But Mercury is also retrograde, in his 11th house. Jupiter is in his 9th house. However, name, fame, power, and prestige have come at a huge cost – his exalted Mercury makes him sophisticated, but since it is retrograde, it means he can also get angry, albeit his anger would be under control. Mars in enemy position makes him an angry young man in his reel as well as real life – that was the Amitabh Bachchan of the Sholay era.

I would say that right now the proof is always in the pudding since the past four years you will have seen that his popularity has dipped and along with him has declined the popularity of the whole Hindi film industry. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence if that is linked with Amitabh undergoing his debilitated Venus mahadasha since the past four years. He has to be very careful of his health right now. He has always had to be careful of scandals or getting a bad name due to the opposite sex – but this stands true even more in this phase of his life.
